Get your motors running, get out on the highway. Hot Rod through the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota with one of the oldest USA car clubs - Counts Car Club, formed in 1957.
We rumble off from the Club House for an unspoiled ride through the jack pines into the high country to Custer State Park, Norbeck Wildlife Center, past pristine Sylvan Lake, through the Needles Eye and granite Cathedral Spires. View wild buffalo along the route on this unusual family outing. Hot Rod enthusiasts swap stories about rejuvenating their rat rods and classic coupes and sedans during a lunch stop where the cars line up for a show and shine. Journey to the extraordinary along the tight twists of the Pig Tail bridge. We parade down the main street of historic Hill City during the Heart of the Hills festival. Mount Rushmore pops up through a carved granite tunnel.
The Counts Car Club Rod Run is an annual July introduction to an paralleled outback mountain backdrop made possible by the partnership of car fanatics and their families; see a part of the Rockies that few thunder through. At the end of the day, and back at the Club House, a family meal is served buffet style. The conversation revolve around . . . rare cars, auto parts, engine overhauls, and upcoming Rod Runs and car shows. Cars are Art!
